The Day Has Come...and Gone

We closed on our first home yesterday! Well, it is D's second home, and my first - and our first home together. It was a wonderful day. Not stressful, nice weather, and completely smooth. Now I am getting super antsy to move in - but there is work to be done and agreements have been made. We will not move in until the painting is DONE. Did you get that D?

We closed at about 3:25pm, and then we went back to the condo to pack up a bottle of wine, 4 bar stools, a blanket to sit on, some water, Chinese food, and some snacks. We loaded up little Hurley, some trash bags, paper towel and toilet paper. We headed to the house, turned on the fire place (because it is the cheapest heat source) and enjoyed our first dinner in our new home! I am bummed that we don't have any pictures of that special event. After dinner, we cracked open a bottle of wine and had a couple of friends over to share in our celebration. It was wonderful. We sat around the kitchen, on the four bar stools and just chatted, relaxed, laughed and drank. It was a fabulous night.

Thank you to all of those who have been so supportive and for all your congratulations! The well wishes have been wonderfully received and we are so grateful to share this time in our lives with you all. We are so EXCITED to get everything done and to move on in! We will be sure to post some before and after pics for entertainment purposes. Until then, here is the official unveiling of the new Casa de Flage (that is Flage House for you non-Spanish speakers...hehe)...
