Fix Those Awful Stairs!

AHHHHH! When we purchased our new home, there were two requirements to get me on board - 1. Paint the house and 2. Change the banisters. They were just not my style. D agreed that we could make those changes before we moved in! YAY! So here are some before and after shots so that you can witness the institutional feeling of having stark white walls, ceilings and trim and the miraculous change in just putting a little paint on the walls!

Add a little paint and some furniture and it is transformed!!

Hmmmm, maybe not so much in that picture. You will just have to take my word for it. Ha!
Bargaining chip number 2 - the seriously strange banisters. We actually had a lot of compliments on them before we changed them - some people thought they were really cool, but they were simply not my thing:

They were all wrought iron and bowed out. They looked to me like they belonged outside on a porch or something, not in a home. They were strange. So, we changed them and I could not be happier - here you can see the paint color change a little better as well (and some new crown molding):

Well, now you are pretty much up to date! I will attempt to post more pictures as the days go on...For now, we are done with renovations and are pleased with the house in the shape that it is in. No more suggestions Mama Jenny!
